In these, a modern-day man suddenly finds himself in the body of a warrior on an exotic desert world. I must read them again sometime (so many books, so little time...).Anthony G Williamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00798830903236765181noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6331135384154117296.post-61417315234539174142011-09-25T18:01:37.536+01:002011-09-25T18:01:37.536+01:00An interesting sounding review. OK, so now we know that Venus is uninhabitable, but for their time they were excellent and he used them to parody what was happening in Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union.

Brilliant stuff, now I shall have to try and find copies again ...The Gray Monkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13243748164095781725noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6331135384154117296.post-4309678463244846192011-09-25T17:23:24.824+01:002011-09-25T17:23:24.824+01:00I'd be interested in the views of anyone who&#...I'd be interested in the views of anyone who's read the fourth book.Anthony G Williamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00798830903236765181noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6331135384154117296.post-80291363737600138342011-09-25T16:59:32.090+01:002011-09-25T16:59:32.090+01:00Anthony,

I may check it out to see if it has recovered its original flair.Fredhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10233846613173866140noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6331135384154117296.post-6890021214969278242011-09-25T15:41:09.291+01:002011-09-25T15:41:09.291+01:00Good review, Tony. I think that makes all the difference in the world.

I recognized the flaws in this book and in Dream Park, but the setting was so appealing that I could overlook them. And I enjoy reading about and watching games (on YouTube), not just playing them, so this was right up my alley.

This is a book where our existing interests matter, I think. Non-gamers don't seem to find it as appealing. That's understandable.Bill Garthrighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08552459555883204060noreply@blogger.com
